Looking for a job in the public sector with competitive compensation packages and flexible working hours? One of our clients is currently recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to become a part of their Capital & Estates Department in Swords.
This is a 1-year fixed-term role, however, there is great opportunity for extensions!
This role provides a range of professional, technical, project management, property, energy, sustainability, fire and safety, and related services in respect of the procurement, development, operation, and maintenance of the client’s physical infrastructure – including lands, buildings, plant, and equipment.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation of comprehensive briefs for the proposed major and minor capital projects.
2. Supervise staff and contractors in the implementation of the agreed program.
3. Prepare budgets for the carrying out of the proposed Minor & Major Capital work programs and ensure that projects are within agreed budgets.
4. Comply with regulatory requirements including permissions, licenses, certificates, and approvals.
5. Evaluate environmental infrastructural risk issues & develop procedures to manage risks.
6. Assess energy efficiency standards in premises in accordance with current standards and regulations.
Requirements:
1. Hold a level 8 (or higher) in Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) major academic award in Architecture, Engineering, or Surveying accredited by a relevant professional institute.
2. OR
3. Have full membership of one of the following relevant professions:
* Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland
* Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
* Engineers Ireland
* Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland
1. AND
2. Have at least five years of relevant experience in planning, design, project management, or construction of buildings or the installation or maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and heating services of such buildings.
Knowledge and Experience:
1. A desirable candidate will have a high level of expertise and experience regarding the construction of buildings and building services.
2. Ideally, candidates should have a comprehensive understanding of the maintenance requirements.
3. Candidates must have a strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
4. Must have excellent leadership and teamwork skills.
5. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with the team and facilitate training for team members.
