The Shopping Core Foundations (SCF) team owns capabilities used to build and enhance core shopping experiences across Amazon. We are looking for SDEs to join a new team that is responsible for delivering core capabilities of a new shopping experience. You have deep technical knowledge, high levels of customer obsession and are comfortable with a high-level of ambiguity. You are curious and are an effective engineering partner for science teams innovating the use of large language models driving new shopping CX. You will have an opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of cutting edge products.
Key job responsibilitiesAs a seasoned software engineer, you will participate in all parts of the software development process, from collaborating with stakeholders and product teams on design, to implementing that design in a scalable and extensible way. You will collaborate with a talented team of Software Engineers, Product Managers and Science teams. You'll have the freedom (and encouragement!) to experiment, improve, invent, and innovate on behalf of our customers.
About the teamThe Shopping Core Foundations (SCF) team (part of Core Shopping org) owns capabilities used to build and enhance core shopping experiences across Amazon. We have a mix of scientists and SDEs and work closely with teams building LLM-based shopping CX (e.g. Rufus). SDEs in our org have the opportunity to work on Tier-1 services, large scale model inference pipelines and human-in-the-loop tooling.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
