KNOW THE ROLE
We are looking for a Sustainability Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Sustainability Business Partner, this is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, passionate and innovative sustainability professional to support the Sustainability team in implementing Brown Thomas Arnotts’ ‘Positive Change’ sustainability programme. The role will work across all areas of the programme but with a particular focus on our product workstream.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Support the implementation of the responsible sourcing strategy.
2. Support the training and upskilling of internal teams on sustainability processes, policies and best practice.
3. Organise and facilitate internal meetings with key stakeholders.
4. Manage day-to-day workflow of the Sustainable Edit, working closely with buying and digital teams.
5. Work with brand partners to encourage transparency in their supply chains and drive improvements in sustainability practices.
6. Review and authenticate third-party sustainability certifications ensuring compliance with company sourcing criteria.
7. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to sustainability certifications, policies, and supplier assessments.
8. Support sustainability reporting both internally and externally.
9. Have knowledge of carbon footprint (direct and indirect carbon emissions) reduction strategy and support Scope 3 climate workflow.
10. Coordinate the gathering of monthly sustainability metrics for internal business reporting.
11. Monitor developments, trends and industry best practices on sustainability.
12. Provide broader administrative support for Sustainability Business Partner across all aspects of the programme.
KNOW WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
1. Third level degree or equivalent in a sustainability-related area: Environmental Science, Sustainable Development or similar (desirable).
2. Experience in a comparable role with a proven track record in sustainability in a business environment (desirable).
3. A clear communicator, assertive and comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Strong attention to detail with an ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously.
5. Strong analytical skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint.
7. Ability to deliver on time to a consistently high standard.
8. A passion for people and planet.
9. The written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports.
10. Ambitious, motivated and results driven.
