Ayrton Group are seeking an EHS Advisor to join our client on a large Civil Engineering project in Waterford City.
The EHS Advisor will assist in ensuring strict adherence to the client Safety Management System and advising on overall compliance in matters of Health & Safety in accordance with client policies and relevant statutory provisions.
This is a 9 month contract role, with the potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensuring adherence to relevant Environmental, Health & Safety related statutory provisions & legislation.
* Ensuring adherence to Company Management system.
* Conducting regular site audits/inspections to ensure health and safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
* Assisting or carrying out accident/incident/near-miss investigation reports in a timely manner & ensuring communication to project and group management.
* Preparing reports on occurrences and providing statistical information to upper management.
* Completing RAMS and site specific Safety statement.
* Working closely with subcontractors to ensure all document are submitted and correct before work commences.
* Reviewing the SWP’s (Safe Work Plans) and all other site Safety documentation.
* Preparing and delivering monthly Safety presentations.
* Logging promotional activity on app and manage training matrix.
* Carrying out Inductions and Toolbox talks as required.
* Managing site PPE register.
* Ensuring that best practices in EHS are promoted & maintained at all times.
Key Requirements:
* Level 7 qualification in Environmental Health & Safety preferred. Similar qualifications will be considered.
* Minimum of 2 year’s experience in on-site Safety roles.
* Previous experience of working on large Civil Engineering projects is preferred.
* Safe Pass and Manual Handling required.
* Thorough knowledge of current Safety legislation & regulations for Ireland.
* Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills to lead a team.
* Experience preparing and delivery Safety presentations.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
