We are a dynamic FMCG company specializing in both Own and Principal Brand Business, with well-established relationships across major ROI Groups and Wholesale markets. Our team of over 80 professionals spans brand production, warehouse operations, and a fast-growing commercial team. With consistent growth over the past three years, we are expanding and looking for an ambitious Key Account Manager to join us.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive new business by identifying potential channels, creating a route-to-market plan, and collaborating with the National Account Manager (NAM) and National Business Controller to secure new opportunities.
* Implement Sales Force Effectiveness projects in new channels.
* Promote Sales Excellence by providing brand training and taking on sales responsibilities tailored to each territory and target. Channels include Convenience, Pharmacy, Forecourt, and Wholesale.
* Execute brand guidelines and sales activations, adapting strategies to suit different customer needs and outlet types.
* Manage existing accounts while actively pursuing new accounts according to set priorities and budgetary objectives.
* Report weekly on sales, profitability, and account initiatives to support growth within your accounts.
* Build strong customer relationships based on trust, expertise, and dependability, while meeting sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Suggest process improvements based on results analysis and competitive insights.
* Use data to drive informed, analytical sales decisions, representing our company and brands at various events, including training sessions, exhibitions, and industry events.
* Collaborate with Senior Management to create weekly, monthly, and quarterly action plans and category plans that align with the annual account and company strategies.
* Foster relationships with key members of trading and supply chain teams and develop connections with managers at prominent stores on a local level.
General Responsibilities:
* Provide flexible support to management by assisting with additional tasks and overflow work as needed to ensure smooth business operations.
* Promote a positive work environment by communicating and collaborating effectively with customers, suppliers, colleagues, and management.
* Participate in all necessary training to perform the role effectively and safely.
* Attend departmental or company meetings as required.
* Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental policies at all times, especially when conducting duties or escorting visitors/customers on site.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* 3-5 years of sales experience in the FMCG sector, ideally with experience in Drinks, Retail, Wholesale, independent retail, and off-license groups.
* Strong verbal communication, numerical reasoning, and organizational skills, with the ability to overcome objections and demonstrate sound business acumen.
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Strong work ethic, adaptability, and resilience in fast-paced environments.
* Confident communicator who can adapt to different settings, with a proven track record in the FMCG and Drinks sectors.
* Experience in category development or customer category development.
* Ability to analyze data to support informed decision-making.
* Collaborative approach with a focus on driving results within a team environment.
