Position Overview
ESB Trading, a leading Irish wholesale energy trading business, seeks an Assistant Shopper to procure goods and services across various markets. The successful candidate will assist teams in achieving best value while ensuring compliance with regulations and internal procedures.
Excellent communication skills are essential for this role, as the Assistant Shopper will work effectively with staff at all levels within and outside the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing invoices and ensuring timely payment.
* Providing SRM shopper support, including setting up carts and ensuring approvals are in place.
* Managing SRM workflow and resolving supplier queries, including invoice processing and payment issues.
* Submitting new Vendor requests and collaborating with the Finance Operations Master Data team.
* Coordinating non-centralised payments and ensuring governance measures are adhered to.
* Assisting with monthly billing and liaising with the OTC team in Finance Operations.
* Supporting ESB Trading Managers with financial forecasting.
* Setting up annual Contracts and creating Purchase Orders from approved documents.
* Assisting with tendering processes, reviewing contracting entities' financials, and pre-qualification questionnaires.
* Identifying areas for process improvement.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
* 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office Applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
* Numerical and analytical skills.
* Ability to work independently, solve problems, and implement solutions.
* Highly motivated, able to work on their own initiative, and as part of a team.
* Basic understanding of accounting and invoice processing.
* Attention to detail and quality approach in data management.
* Corporate IT systems knowledge.
* Good judgement and decision-making skills.
Desirable:
* Familiarity with SAP SRM and FMIS systems.
* Knowledge of ESB's organisation structure and Group Procurement procedures.
* Commitment to internal and external training.
Qualifications:
* A qualification in finance or similar work experience is advantageous.
