About the Company: Our client is currently recruiting for a Quality Compliance Officer to join their team based in North County Cork.
The role reports to the Technical Manager and plays a vital part in the organization's commitment to quality, food safety, and customer satisfaction.
The Role: The Technical Quality Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety, regulatory, and customer-specific standards. This includes:
• Maintaining quality management systems
• Overseeing audits
• Managing supplier and customer relationships
• Fostering a strong food safety culture
• Ensuring all documentation and training are up-to-date
Responsibilities Include:
• Staying informed about relevant legislation, food safety developments, BRC Global Standards, Halal standards, and customer-specific requirements.
• Updating and communicating internally to all stakeholders.
• Overseeing and approving updates to the Quality Manual, in collaboration with the Technical Manager when needed.
• Facilitating and documenting annual Hazard Analysis, HACCP/TACCP/VACCP reviews.
• Reviewing all lab results on a weekly/monthly basis and working on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assisting in the implementation of a company-wide Food Safety Culture program.
• Providing food safety updates and guidance to staff through team briefings and individual consultations.
• Attending management meetings and following up on corrective actions as required.
• Serving as a liaison with the Department of Agriculture, Food, and Marine for compliance and regulatory matters.
• Assisting the Technical Manager in conducting annual Management Reviews.
Essential Criteria:
• A degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field is preferred.
• 2+ years' experience in quality assurance, food safety compliance, or a similar role in the food industry.
• Proficiency in regulatory and quality management standards, including BRC and HACCP.
• Proven ability to manage audits, internal compliance checks, and customer relations.
• Leadership skills in fostering a food safety culture and training staff.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work within a team environment.
