Job Title: Clinical Specialist Radiographer - CT
Reports to: Head of Radiology Operations
The position of Clinical Specialist Radiographer in CT requires an ability to lead, guide and supervise radiographic staff and to successfully manage service delivery on a day to day basis.
Main responsibilities include undertaking as team leader, primary responsibility on a day-to-day basis for the CT Service and the effective utilisation of all resources allocated.
Key objectives:
* Be accountable for the quality of the service provided, including customer service and technical aspects.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of operational policies, protocols and guidelines to ensure optimum utilisation of resources and systematic audit of such usage.
* Advise on equipment selection, purchase, replacement or upgrading.
A clinical specialist radiographer in CT is responsible for promoting awareness of new developments, ensuring best practices are implemented and contributing to financial planning.
They must also provide professional support and advice to patients, radiographers, radiologists, medical staff, nurses and other allied health professionals and promote a safe environment for staff and patients.
The role involves investigating and taking appropriate action in accordance with hospital policy in relation to complaints, accidents and incidents, implementing and maintaining a quality assurance programme and ensuring that all hospital policies and relevant up to date information is understood and complied with by staff.
Additionally, they are responsible for radiation safety, ensuring that the three principles of radiation protection are adhered to, maintaining up to date knowledge of clinical, technical and radiographic developments in relation to CT and demonstrating flexibility in possible changes to work patterns.
Requirements:
* BSc(Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
* Postgraduate diploma in CT is required.
* CORU registration.
* Management course (desirable).
Experience:
* A minimum of 6 years experience in the chosen modality or a post graduate qualification in the modality plus a minimum of 3 years experience.
* Demonstrate experience of working with a team of Radiographers.
* Experience in cardiac CT, biopsies in CT, virtual colonoscopy.

* Demonstrate ability to manage clinical and non-clinical situations.
* Have a proven ability to work under pressure.
* Have excellent interpersonal and communicative skills.
* Be able to deal with staff and management at all levels within the organisation.
