The shift pattern is 4 nights on 4 nights off covering a 7 day period Sunday through Saturday. The shift working times are 5.30 pm to 6.00 am.
Job purpose
The primary function of this role is to manage the nightly cleaning operations in all work areas from people to premises. Maintaining hygiene standards by adhering to company cleaning objectives, people & culture, safety, & quality.
Duties and responsibilities
The core responsibility of this role is to oversee cleaning activities in all areas. The cleaning supervisor will step in as a cleaning operative and will also cover the hygiene manager during annual leave or absenteeism. This includes High-Risk Production and Packaging, Low-Risk Production and Packaging, and Warehouse. The cleaning supervisor organizes and monitors the team to ensure all areas are maintained in a clean and hygienic environment which meets specified cleaning standards.
The table below outlines some examples of the daily expectations, other tasks will be delegated by the area manager as required.
Primary focus Areas
* Maintain hygiene standards of Premises and Equipment.
* Team training is complete and certification available.
* Adhere to cleaning schedules.
* Records are verified.
* Pre-Production/Handover Standards are acceptable.
* Environmental swabs are within specification.
* Ensure all areas are cleaned as outlined in CICs by monitoring areas daily.
* All staff are signed off on CICs for equipment being worked on.
* Ensure all areas are maintained as per cleaning schedules.
* All cleaning records are maintained by the Team Leader and verified by the Supervisor.
* Ensure handover standards are acceptable and any issues are resolved in a timely manner. Retraining or coaching carried out if necessary.
* Cleaning to a standard that prevents microbial growth and the risk of biological hazards.
People & Culture
* Along with the manager create a Grow Program to help develop each team member.
* Carry out or facilitate training of team where necessary.
* Raise cleaning/team concerns directly to Hygiene Manager.
* Manage weekly roster to ensure cover throughout the week.
* Promote & drive development within the teams through the GROW Programme.
* Encourage teamwork.
* Ensure enough trained in each area to allow for deputization / smooth transitions for holiday/absence cover.
* Manage rosters, headcounts & staff optimal placements daily. Seek guidance as required.
Health & Safety
* Manage the safety of the workplace daily.
* Ensure the appropriate training is given & is on file for all staff for any duties exercised.
* Ensure correct PPE is used as per CICs.
* Check for & report on any safety concerns for the area & liaise as appropriate to ensure timely resolution.
* Ensure that training is continually applied so as not to act as a deterrent for staff rotation (holiday/absence cover).
* Operators need to wear the correct PPE to prevent injuries/chemical burns.
Environment
* Manage water and chemical use daily.
* Be aware of water usage. Clean from top down and use brushes, squeegees where possible.

Working conditions
The job requires continual presence throughout High-Risk and Low-Risk. Given the nature of the business, the work areas must be maintained under refrigerated conditions so please ensure that you dress appropriately.
Physical requirements
The work in some areas can be physically demanding & it will be necessary to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis & do repetitive tasks. Job rotation, manual handling techniques and observing rest periods are of vast importance.
