Job Title: Data Centre Infrastructure Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Data Centre Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Dublin 24. The ideal candidate will have experience with installation, configuration and maintenance processes for servers, storage and networking equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and monitor the IT equipment installation process to ensure vendor compliance with specifications.
* Manage IT equipment installers, including scheduling and quality control.
* Review and approve IT equipment installation plans for data center regulations and security requirements.
* Supervise the entire IT equipment installation process, cabling, configuration, and testing.
* Monitor spare parts replacement, fault diagnosis, and test verification.
* Perform routine inspections of data center equipment to ensure proper operation and capacity.
* Respond quickly to emergencies and faults to maintain equipment room stability and security.
* Review and optimize the spare parts management system for improved efficiency.
* Coordinate with suppliers to maintain devices and rectify faults.
* Assess supplier work quality, provide feedback, and drive improvement.
* Manage internal IT O&M teams and train members on latest IT equipment management skills.
* Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for IT equipment installation and troubleshooting.
* Collaborate with Procurement to ensure purchased IT equipment meets technical requirements and compatibility standards.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field.
* Data center IT O&M experience preferred.
* In-depth knowledge of installation, configuration and maintenance processes for servers, storage and networking equipment.
* IT project management experience, familiar with planning and execution of IT equipment installation projects.
* Excellent people management skills with ability to effectively manage installers and technicians.
* In-depth knowledge of data center operational security practices and procedures.
* Professional certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, and ITIL.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, PPT, Excel, etc.
* Excellent vendor management skills, with experience managing IT outsourcing services.
* Strong problem analysis, problem solving, and decision making skills with strong sense of responsibility.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly in emergency situations.
* Accepting emergency handling faults during non-working hours.
