Harringtons Concrete & Quarries ULC have an exciting opportunity to join our growing company and are now recruiting for a CNC Plasma Operatorto join our manufacturing team. The position is based at our Kilkelly Depot; however the successful candidate will be required to be flexible in the role and location to ensure adequate cover in place for our various depots. Key Objective The ideal candidate will have experience in operating CNC plasma cutting machines, ensuring precise and efficient production of metal components. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the CNC plasma cutter while following technical drawings and specifications to meet production requirements. Principal Duties: Machine Operation: Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting machines to cut shape metal parts. Programming: Input or adjust CNC programs and modify machine settings as needed to ensure accurate cuts. Quality Control: Inspect finished products using measuring tools (calipers, gauges, etc.) to verify conformance to specifications. Make adjustments as necessary. Material Handling: Load and unload metal sheets onto the CNC table safely and efficiently. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the CNC plasma cutter, including changing consumables, cleaning the work area, and troubleshooting basic machine issues. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production, machine settings, and maintenance activities. Liaising with other production operations to ensure a timely supply of materials Flexibility is essential to the company. Essential Experience: Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience operating CNC plasma cutting machines or similar equipment. Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting CAD drawings, and technical documents. Knowledge: Familiarity with CNC programming, metal types(e.g., steel, aluminum, stainless steel). Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, quality, and precision in cutting. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods of time. Safety Conscious: Understanding of safety procedures and best practices in a manufacturing environment. An ability to juggle various aspects of the role in a multifaceted environment. An ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
