JOB PURPOSE:
To work as part of a team to ensure quality care to the children in the service and to work alongside the educators in your room to ensure a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach.
We highly regard play-based emergent curriculum as a fundamental aspect of the role as it underpins our ethos of Early Days. Each educator is allocated 1.5 hours of non-contact time a week and undergoes monthly supervisions with management to ensure you are supported and the quality and standard expected of Early Days staff are practiced. Each room holds weekly room meetings and sets goals and delegates tasks for each member ensuring a teamwork approach. We have regular staff incentive nights and staff appreciation. We invite the parents in each term for various parents evenings to encourage partnerships with parents. We promote regular staff CPD and online workshops. We focus our staff meetings on reflective practice and a collaborative approach to supporting one another. We offer extra days off in the year at quiet times in the service to give back to our staff.
DUTIES:
General:
* Ensuring compliance with Pre-School Regulations & Tulsa QRFs.
* Delivery of consistent, high-quality standards of care, working with the team and management.
* Have a sound knowledge of play-based emergent curriculum and how to implement it daily in your practice.
* Liaise with parents and ensure relationships and communications between parents are open, friendly, and constructive.
* Maintain all required records as part of our policies and procedures.
* To ensure that learning stories are practised and to record any significant development for each child and to ensure that this is reflective of the overall planning with your team.
* Have a sound knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures in the sector.
* To provide an environment that promotes fairness, respect, equality, and dignity to the children.
* Be a motivated individual who is conscious that the learning environment is always changing and adapting to the children’s interests and needs.
* Identify and provide support for individual children.
Other Duties:
* Participate in relevant training.
* Attend meetings and prepare reports.
* Report any concerns to the manager and help provide solutions.
* Thorough understanding of all policies and procedures in the service and ensure compliance with them in all operations.
* Keep up to date with all Health and Safety requirements as stipulated by the HSW Act 2005.
* Ensure compliance with the Child Care (pre-school) regulation 2016, the Child care Act 1991 and all other relevant legislation and regulations.
* Co-operate with the Tulsa and DES pre-school inspector when required.
* Ensure compliance with the Dept of Health and Childcare Guidelines.
Qualities and skills required for this role:
* Excellent time management skills.
* Experience in communicating with parents, staff, children, and outside agencies such as Tulsa and the DES.
* Good organisational skills.
* Have a sound knowledge of the Child Care Regulations, Health and Safety, First Aid, and Human Resources Issues.

* Willing to contribute your skills and knowledge to the team.
