Health and Safety Officer Optimize Recruitment is partnering with a prominent provider of renewable energy solutions in Ireland to find a Health and Safety Officer.

Reporting directly to the Health and Safety Manager, the position involves implementing safety management systems, performing regular safety audits, and supporting on-site staff.

Responsibilities Develop and implement standardized procedures and policies to drive continuous improvement and ensure a consistent approach to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) across the business.
Manage EHS programs throughout the organization, providing oversight and governance to ensure compliance with safety regulations, laws, and company policies.
Implement and maintain the company's Safety Management System while ensuring alignment with corporate EHS strategies and objectives.
Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with all safety and company requirements, reporting findings to the Head of EHS.
Deliver and oversee workplace health and safety inductions, weekly toolbox talks, on-site training, and safety initiatives to promote a culture of EHS.
Organize and chair safety meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration on EHS matters.
Identify training needs and report requirements to the Head of EHS, ensuring continuous development of site personnel.
Review sub-contractors' Method Statements and Risk Assessments, providing assistance where needed to enhance safety practices.
Maintain and assess sub-contractor insurance, safety statements, and method statements to ensure compliance.
Assist with accident and incident investigations, identifying opportunities to reduce workplace injuries, accidents, and health risks while contributing to improvement initiatives.
Advise and assist site teams in drafting Safe Plans of Action, ensuring best practices are followed.
Ensure compliance with safety laws, regulations, codes, and industry standards, attending client safety audits and meetings as required.
Provide general support and assistance to the Head of EHS, contributing to corporate EHS activities and promoting a strong safety culture.
Identify and mitigate risks early, resolving or escalating issues as appropriate to maintain a safe working environment.
Ensure adherence to core Customer Care principles, supporting the delivery of high-quality engineering and construction projects.
Submit weekly reports detailing safety performance, compliance status, and improvement initiatives.
Work within a dynamic team to assist in the management of complex engineering and construction projects.
Support EHS performance reporting standards and collaborate to verify compliance with business safety standards.
Qualifications A relevant 3rd level qualification in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is essential.
Minimum of 4+ years' experience in a similar role.
Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong organisational and planning abilities.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
