Our client, one of Ireland’s largest Renewable Energy Manufacturers and Forestry, is currently in search of a Procurement Category Specialist to join their talented Procurement team, based out of Mullingar (Other sites available & Hybrid).
Reporting to the Procurement Category Manager, the Procurement Category Specialist is responsible for the deployment of best practice solutions to meet the operational procurement goals of the Professional Services and Forest Operations categories.
The role also has a key responsibility to ensure business and procurement strategies are fully supported. As a member of the procurement team the holder will also be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of simplified and efficient procurement processes to ensure high quality contractor procurement services.
You role:
1. Manage the procurement process for the Professional Services & Forest Operations categories.
2. Work with business areas to ensure tender requirements are agreed, and contracts are in place when needed.
3. Responsible for the advertisement, delivery and award of tenders in line with business requirements and relevant procurement regulations.
4. Support the development of robust procurement strategies for the assigned categories and assist in the execution of annual implementation plans.
5. Identify and deliver value for money, through implementation of cost savings and continuous improvement programmes from category strategies.
6. Reporting & analysis of tender activities, as well as supplier market insights for assigned procurement categories.
7. Engage in improvement projects and initiatives to support our sustainability objectives.
8. Responsible for implementing progressive and flexible resourcing solutions to ensure we have a growing and vibrant contractor base which can fully meet the changing and future capacity and capability needs of our business.
9. Support the development of contractor and suppliers through collaboration and partnerships.
10. Responsible for implementing effective supplier relationship management processes to recognise and reward our best performing & progressive.
Your skills:
11. 3+ years’ experience in public procurement operations, with knowledge of procurement regulations.
12. Educated in a relevant qualification in business (HETAC Level 8), procurement (Professional Diploma in Public Procurement (IPA), Advanced Diploma in Public Procurement Law (Kings’ Inn) or equivalent).
13. The knowledge to understand and manage financials to maintain profitability.
14. Knowledge and experience of strategy formulation and the role of innovation in exploiting the delivery of strategies.
15. Knowledge and insight of end markets and customers and dedication to meeting their expectations and requirements.
16. Strong report writing and presentation skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
17. The capacity to reduce complexity and increase efficiency in business process.
