EMEA VAT Lead

Responsibilities:
* Review and approve VAT returns prepared by the team, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
* Prepare VAT returns for key entities, leveraging expertise in European indirect tax matters.
* Support and participate in multi-country indirect tax audits and tax authority requests, maintaining open communication channels.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders on indirect tax matters, driving process improvements and automation initiatives.
* Develop and maintain efficient internal processes, streamlining VAT compliance and reducing complexities.
* Perform reconciliations between VAT filings, accounting records, and tax account statements, ensuring data integrity.
* Support the VAT refund process, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimizing workflows.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, applying analytical skills to drive efficiency gains.
* Perform ad-hoc tax tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years of experience in indirect tax compliance, with a focus on European countries, particularly Switzerland, The Netherlands, and Spain.
* Strong understanding of VAT regulations and best practices, staying up-to-date with changing laws and requirements.
* Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, meeting deadlines and delivering results.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, applied to complex VAT issues and process optimizations.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with experience with ERP systems preferred.

An attractive estimated salary for this role is €65,000 - €80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
