Head of Finance - Leadership Opportunity in the Not-for-Profit Sector A leading organisation dedicated to providing vital residential and day services is seeking an accomplished Head of Finance to play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence, governance, and strategic oversight.

The Role Reporting directly to the CEO and as a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Finance will be responsible for ensuring financial compliance, robust governance, and strategic financial planning.
The successful candidate will lead a finance team in managing budgeting, reporting, audits, and financial controls, ensuring the highest standards of transparency and accountability.
This position requires a strong leader who can provide both strategic insight and hands-on financial oversight, working closely with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, auditors, and funding agencies.
Key Responsibilities Lead the finance function, ensuring best practices in financial governance and compliance.
Develop and implement financial policies aligned with regulatory requirements.
Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to support organisational goals.
Manage relationships with auditors, advisors, and key external stakeholders.
Lead financial planning initiatives to enhance cost efficiency and sustainability.
Provide leadership to the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Ensure effective financial controls, monitoring budgets and variance analysis.
Support senior leadership in strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis.
The Ideal Candidate A fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
At least five years of post-qualification experience, with a minimum of three years in a leadership role.
Strong experience in financial planning, reporting, and budget management.
Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders and influence strategic decisions.
Exceptional leadership and team development skills.
Experience in the not-for-profit, charity, or healthcare sector would be an advantage.
Ability to manage change and drive process improvements within a financial function.
