Senior Commercial Underwriter Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Underwriter to join our client, a leading insurance organisation, based in Dublin City Centre.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial underwriting and exposure to managing a portfolio of client and broker accounts.
This role is offered on a hybrid basis with two days in the office and includes a range of benefits, including healthcare, pension, and bonus.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the commercial portfolio for both direct and broker accounts
* Analyse policy performance for direct and broker clients, including pricing and coverage evaluations
* Ensure compliance with file documentation standards, underwriting guidelines, and audit requirements
* Provide underwriting training and mentoring to team members
* Assist in the day-to-day management of Property, Liability, and Commercial Combined portfolios, including adjustments and account management
* Underwrite and negotiate products for direct and broker clients
* Develop and maintain client relationships to support business growth
* Arrange insurance surveys according to underwriting procedures
* Maintain underwriting records in compliance with regulations
* Assist with reinsurance maintenance and placement
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Professional qualification within insurance
* Previous experience in an underwriting role with a focus on technical aspects is advantageous
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and effectively communicate organisational objectives
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
* Proficient in numeracy and analytics, capable of interpreting data and preparing reports
* Exposure to various industries and clientele
* Demonstrated capacity for independent underwriting decision-making
* Ability to influence decision-making processes
