Buyer/ Planner – Limerick with Hybrid model
Our client is a well-established supply chain management company working with brand name technology manufacturers & customers. They are seeking a skilled Buyer/Planner to manage procurement and inventory planning across multiple locations. This role involves sourcing materials, monitoring inventory levels, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely deliveries to support business operations. Salary: €40K - €50K plus benefits. Great hybrid model.
The Role:
* Responsible for the effective coordination of material planning, purchasing, and production scheduling functions, ensuring timely delivery to multiple customer locations.
* Establish and maintain strong working relationships with existing and new suppliers, scheduling reviews where appropriate.
* Work with relevant procurement personnel and/or suppliers to expedite shortages and urgent shipments.
* Communicate regularly with suppliers and provide updates to internal and external customers, including visits to customer locations.
* Work to reduce/eliminate any potential excess and obsolete materials.
* Review impact of ECNs and/or deviations to current supply.
* Develop and implement a cost reduction program.
* Collaborate with Engineering to onboard new cost-effective solutions as part of innovation programmes.
* Ensure that control, recording systems, and procedures fully meet customers’ requirements.
* Ensure timely escalation and elimination of roadblocks.
* Responsible for NPI management and new vendor set-up.
* Ensure all SAP master data, including pricing, is kept up to date and present regular reports displaying the same.
* Support the accounts team to ensure timely invoicing and assist with any invoice queries.
The Candidate:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
* Proficient in the use of SAP with experience in MRP & proficient in Microsoft Office.
* APICS/IIPMM or equivalent certification.
* Vendor management expertise.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with different functions within the organization.
* Team player with the ability to work well in a busy environment.
* Able to work under own initiative and make sound commercial decisions.
