Commercial underwriter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Underwriter to deliver high-quality service to our underwriters and brokers. This role is crucial in supporting our Commercial Master Package team, aligned with our ambitious growth plans across the UKI and Mid-Market sectors.

The successful candidate will manage a book of Irish business, transacted through our E-Trade platform and Open Market. Responsibilities include underwriting Package and Monoline business, including UKI and Multinational Property, Casualty, and Global Terrorism.


Key Responsibilities:

* Underwrite and process renewable Mono Property and Package business, in accordance with underwriting guidelines, authority limits, and the business plan.
* Engage in meetings with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders, both in-person and virtually.
* Coordinate the placement of Multinational Programs through our Global Network.
* Ensure compliance with company standards for policy documentation, quotation timeframes for new and renewal business, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
* Operate within the framework of the company's Code of Conduct, compliance policies, peer review processes, and established protocols.


Qualifications:

1. Experience in the insurance market, with a strong interest in developing Property & Casualty expertise in a dynamic environment.
2. Ability to apply a practical and common-sense approach to varied situations and effectively solve problems under tight deadlines.
3. Interest in working with Multinational programs.
4. Minimum education requirement: Leaving Cert standard.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
