Job Title: Head Waiter
Department: Food & Beverage
Responsible To: Director of Food & Beverage/Restaurant Management
Main Purpose of Job: To ensure high quality service to the guests by leading and motivating the restaurant staff, in line with company standards and policies, including coaching and training the employees, planning, assigning and directing duties, preventing and handling guest issues, and creating an overall pleasant dining experience.
Liaises with: All departments
MAIN DUTIES
1. Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of each menu item presented to our members and guests.
2. Assist with interviewing, selecting, training, supervising and monitoring F&B associates to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
3. Assist in ensuring consistent five-star service through effective monitoring of standard operating procedures and ensure adherence to these standards by regularly and fairly holding staff accountable for their performance.
4. Assist in communicating any pertinent information to the staff through team briefings.
5. Ensure adequate staffing levels and schedule and direct staff in their work assignments.
6. Assist in ensuring bar and food outlets work closely together to ensure the best service to our members and guests.
7. Communicate our services and facilities to guests as required.
8. Address any customer concerns in a professional manner and notify management of same.
9. Deliver careful monitoring ensuring that no person under the age of 18 is served alcoholic beverages.
10. Ensure that all guests' requests are responded to immediately.
11. Ensure that all standards and hotel cash handling procedures are met.
12. Ensure that all orders are entered into the company POS system.
QUALIFYING CRITERIA
1. A thorough knowledge and understanding of Food & beverage service.
2. Knowledge & experience of five-star hospitality an advantage, and works to a high quality standard.
3. Resourceful and self-motivating.
4. Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Focused on providing exceptional customer service.
7. Ability to work flexible hours.
8. Ability to remain calm whilst under pressure.
9. Must be over 18 years of age due to service of alcohol.
