Job Description:
Our client, an IT/data integration consultancy, wants to hire a proactive Project Director to oversee project teams and ensure projects are completed on time.
The Project Director will work as part of the executive team, contributing to and supporting the strategic direction, revenue, and margin targets. They will establish the Project Management Office (PMO) and direct and coordinate the utilization of PM and BA resources within the PMO to reach agreed targets. This coordination will extend to resources seconded from technical teams within the organization and from partner organizations.
The Project Director will ensure compliance with budget and other project requirements. This will include preparing and maintaining documentation sets and internal/external reports. It will also include timely communication with internal and external stakeholders during all phases of the project and closing it efficiently. They will actively contribute and support the sales cycle from the qualification of opportunities and the presales/sales cycle.
Project Director Responsibilities
1. Assisting in establishing a Project Management Office to oversee multiple projects, including the implementation of document control policies and documentation templates.
2. Liaising with stakeholders such as the management team, Sales/Presales, project personnel, colleagues, partners/vendors, and end-users regarding project requirements.
3. Maintaining a good working knowledge of identified platforms held within their portfolio and those we choose to add over time.
4. Ensuring compliance with objectives, organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
5. Compiling project reports and informing management regarding problems.
6. Resource planning and pipelining in line with project growth and presales activities.
7. Ensuring project compliance with best practices, SOPs, PMO policies, and other policies.
Within Projects:
1. Discussing potential projects and their parameters with clients, executives, technical teams, and partners.
2. Planning out the blueprints for projects, including defining the scope, identifying resources, setting deadlines, laying out communication strategies, and indicating tests and maintenance.
3. Assembling and leading the project team.
4. Participating in and supervising each stage of the projects.
5. Ensuring each project stays on schedule and adheres to deadlines.
6. Creating a project resource budget and ensuring the project adheres as closely as possible.
7. Tracking milestones, deliverables, and change requests.
8. Serving as a liaison to communicate information regarding changes, milestones reached, and other pertinent information.
9. Delivering completed solutions to clients.
Project Director Requirements
1. 10+ years of proven experience in senior management roles.
2. 15+ years in project/program management roles.
3. A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field.
4. Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle.
5. Strong understanding of on-premise and cloud-based enterprise solutions, data, and system integration.
6. Strong understanding in App development - Microsoft, Azure, and associated family platforms and solutions.
7. Outstanding leadership, organizational, decision-making, and management skills.
8. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
9. Strong attention to detail.
10. Strong people skills – internal and external.
11. Understanding of MSP ticketing and Alert Management Systems.
12. Thorough understanding of multiple project management practices.
