The husband-and-wife team forged a path that would grow across geographies, span generations, and make Horseware Ireland the world’s leading equestrian brand in horse rugs and equine products, selling to over 70 countries worldwide and employing more than 500 people.Today, more than ever, we continue to challenge what is possible and reimagine new ways of fulfilling our mission to improve life for you, your horse, and our planet.About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Information Technology to join Horseware Ireland during a time of growth and change.The successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring that the company’s technology infrastructure aligns with business objectives, enhances operational efficiency, drives innovation, and delivers a competitive advantage.This role involves overseeing the strategy, development and implementation of IT systems, commercial platforms, cybersecurity, data management, and digital transformation initiatives. A key element of this role will be ensuring that our IT architecture is future proofed against the long-term needs of the business.Key responsibilities include:Develop and execute a strategic plan that aligns technology infrastructure, asset & data management capabilities with the organisation’s goals, focusing on scalability, security and efficiency.Stay abreast of emerging technology trends/systems and assess their potential impact on the organisation and suitability to drive innovation and efficiency.Oversee the management and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and security systems.Identify and mitigate IT risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.Develop and implement security policies, data protection measures, and disaster recovery plans.Oversee IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the organisation’s standards and requirements.Lead the IT department, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Manage and mentor IT staff, set objectives, and evaluate performance.Oversee the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources. Negotiate with vendors and manage procurement processes for IT equipment and services.Serve as the primary liaison between the IT department and other business units, executive management, and external partners.Communicate IT strategies and initiatives effectively across all levels of the organisation.About You:Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Must demonstrate a familiarity with the technical complexity of a global omnichannel retail business including functional areas such as ecommerce, marketing, sales, supply chain, distribution and finance.Experience with Oracle NetSuite ERP and Adobe Commerce platform preferred.7 years experience in a senior managerial role required.Programming and systems analysis.Solid analytical skills - able to solve problems & interpret instructions in any form.Project management expertise in planning and completing large and small projects.Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.Leadership ability as a creative, competent team builder.
