Job Title: Mechanical Process Engineer
Job Summary:
The role of a Mechanical Process Engineer will involve supporting the development of engineered products using advanced powder flow characterizations. This includes creating innovative test methods to ensure accurate analysis and optimization of powder handling processes for various industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of detailed product specifications in collaboration with stakeholders.
* Conducting lab-based investigations, technical trials, and simulations to assess powder flow characteristics and develop solutions.
* Material/equipment specification and selection.
* Prototyping and support for verification testing, risk assessments, DFMEAs, and validation exercises.
* Collaboration with internal compliance teams and certification agencies to ensure products meet current regulations and standards.
* Close work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transition of new products into production.
* Providing technical assistance to Production, Service, and Sales teams, as well as customers.
* Undertaking and supporting Engineering Change Requests, promoting thorough documentation control and lessons learned.
* Supporting the development of departmental processes, procedures, and best practices.
* Driving root cause analysis exercises to analyze problems and deliver optimal solutions.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, with a background in powder handling equipment.
* Experience in dealing with powders/granules processes.
* Design of complex technical products, including knowledge of the design lifecycle from concept through to production.
* Desirable skills include hands-on working with powder flow analysis tools and techniques, familiarity with simulation software for powder behavior modeling and process optimization, and experience with cGMP, FDA regulations, and other quality standards.

* Experience in employing additive manufacturing for prototypes or low-volume production.
* Knowledge of tools such as DFMEA & PFMEA, to identify and address potential failure modes in designs for manufacture and servicing.
* Good knowledge of technical drawing to BS 8888, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
* Experience in designing products encompassing mechanical and electrical elements.
* Experience with cGMP, FDA regulations, and ISO 9001 (or similar) quality management systems.
* Experience in product verification and validation testing.
