Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple construction projects, ensuring cost control and maximizing profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cost Management: Prepare detailed cost budgets, cash flow forecasts for M&E projects, monitor and manage project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying potential cost overruns and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
* Contract Administration: Administer contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and terms. Prepare and review contract documents, variations, and claims, resolving disputes and discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
* Risk Management: Identify and assess project risks related to cost, schedule, and quality. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize exposure and ensure project success. Proactively manage changes and deviations from the original project scope to mitigate potential financial impacts.
* Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including cost reports, variance analyses, and final accounts. Present financial information to senior management and project stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
* Technical Ability: Proficient in Excel. Experience working with BIM models to extract quantities, P&ID and Isometric use and understanding, understanding and ability to read technical specifications.
* Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders. Communicate effectively with all parties to understand their needs and expectations, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Chartered Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a focus on mechanical and electrical projects.
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control techniques.
* Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Technically proficient in Excel, P&IDs, BIM understating M&E Specs.
* Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
* Willingness to travel to project sites across the UK and Ireland as required.
