Position Summary:
* Responsibility for building testers, fixtures, and environmental test chambers to the specification standards required.
* Repairs testers and fixtures in accordance with the fault logging and downtime system, diagnosing faults and driving corrective actions to ensure minimal recurrence of failures.
Key Responsibilities and End Results:
* Supports the Test Engineer in the development and commissioning of test solutions, executing the test qualification of the fixture and program as per the specific system qualification process.
* Provides deliverables to support the solution in production to both the Test Support Function and Manufacturing Operations.
* Assists in the build and manufacture of testers, fixtures, and environmental tooling as required to meet customer expectations.
* Provides the interface to the Test Support function, delivering comprehensive documentation and training for all test solutions implemented.
* Provides the interface to the Manufacturing function, coordinating training and education for all test operations implemented.
* Monitors and contributes to the improvement of Test Yields, Efficiency, Intermittencies, and Uptime, providing accurate reporting and clear targets for improvement.
* Strives to consistently upgrade the test process balancing cost and coverage to provide an optimized and cost-efficient test process.
* Works closely with manufacturing and test support to ensure prioritization of support activities, coordinating the timetable for test readiness based on the weekly production schedule.
* May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
* Provides hands-on technical support to the production areas.
* Troubleshoots technical faults, ensuring a fast response and resolution of all issues.
* Maintains all production test equipment in excellent working condition, ensuring consistent performance with a focus on quality, output, and yield.
* Assists in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new production test equipment.
* Assists in the completion of Test Measurement equipment calibration as required.
* Provides input towards the continual improvement of the Test Engineering Department’s role within the organization, as dictated by business requirements.
Person Specification:
* Computer literate with intermediate/advanced MS Office skills.
* Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
* Strong planning & organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in the English language is a requirement alongside eligibility to work in Ireland.
* Proven ability to meet deadlines.
* A “can do” work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills.
Essential Criteria:
* Minimum level 7 qualification in electrical or electronic engineering or relevant experience.
* BS/BA degree in Manufacturing Technology / Mechanical Engineering / Electronic / Electronics / Mechatronics. May substitute experience in lieu of educational requirements.
* 1-2 years’ experience working as a Test Engineering Technician or similar in the electronic manufacturing industry.
* Strong technical writing and good documentation practices.
* Strong analytical and PC skills.
Desired Criteria:
* Experience in an electronic manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
* Experience in leading process improvements/lean manufacturing activities in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
