Position Description
Are you passionate about renewable energy and eager to make a significant impact on the journey to net zero? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced GT Regulation and Commercial Manager (Renewables) to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our company and the energy industry.
In this critical role, you will ensure that markets and auctions for renewable energy contracts, including offshore, onshore, and hydrogen projects, are thoroughly understood and strategically navigated. Your expertise in driving regulatory changes will be essential in establishing favourable rules and market designs that enhance our success in securing contracts. Additionally, you will need to comprehend the implications of these contracts within a diverse energy portfolio that includes thermal units.
Your ability to engage effectively with regulators and industry participants will be crucial for advancing our company's sustainability goals and commercial success. By designing markets that are effective, unbiased, and reflective of our company's values, you will help us on our strategic journey to net zero.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure thorough understanding of markets and auctions for renewable energy contracts.
2. Drive regulatory changes to establish favourable rules and market designs.
3. Comprehend implications of contracts within a diverse energy portfolio.
4. Engage significantly with regulators and industry participants.
Experience and Qualifications
1. 10 plus years expertise in regulatory rules and processes.
2. Ability to recognize commercial opportunities and threats.
3. Understanding of impacts on investment business cases and existing portfolio.
4. Have a strategic focus and ability to provide unique insights.
5. A track record of effectively influencing at a senior level.
6. An ability to manage a team and work collaboratively with others.
7. Preferred qualifications include engineering skills or economic incentive management models.
Location
This role is based in our state-of-the-art Fitzwilliam 27 office, with occasional travel required. ESB promotes smart working, allowing flexible arrangements with at least one anchor day per week in the office for collaboration, subject to manager approval and operational needs.
