Vascular Division Clonmel
Abbott Vascular is a leading vascular care business that combines innovative medical device technologies with world-class pharmaceuticals, research, and development, and training. Our broad line of vascular devices manufactured in Clonmel includes vessel closure, endovascular, and coronary technologies designed to treat heart attack, stroke, critical limb ischemia, and other serious vascular conditions.
Our Focus
As the largest Abbott manufacturing facility in Ireland, we focus on both manufacturing and research and development of next-generation vascular products.
Your Role
We're seeking a highly skilled Component Engineer/Supplier Manufacturing Engineer to drive improvement and corrective actions in the quality of components sourced from outside suppliers.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Establishing Incoming Inspection and Test Procedures
* Developing New Supply Sources
* Assessing Potential New Suppliers
* Managing Projects to Reduce Material Costs or Risks
* Working with Receiving Improvement Teams
* Leading Process Improvement Teams
* Reviewing Material Specification Releases
* Investigating Field Failures
* Managing Business Risk Assessments
Requirements
We're looking for an individual with:
* NQF level 7 in a relevant discipline and +2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
* Working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures.
* A general understanding of business unit/group function.
* Cognitive skills to work on problems of moderate scope.
* Influence/Leadership skills to cultivate internal networks and develop an external network of resources.
* Planning/Organisation skills to plan, organise, and prioritise daily work routine.
* Decision Making/Impact skills to exercise authority and judgment within defined limits.
About You
You will be working under general supervision, following established procedures, and exercising judgment within defined limits to determine appropriate action.
