JOB PURPOSE: Ensure efficient cash flow for the organisation by overseeing credit policies, managing customer accounts, and minimising financial risk through effective debt collection strategies. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following: Manage the credit control function, providing leadership, guidance, and support. Develop and implement credit control strategies and policies to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts. Monitor the creditworthiness of customers and make decisions regarding credit limits and payment terms. Proactively identify and resolve credit control issues and escalate them when necessary. Perform regular credit risk assessments and provide recommendations to senior management. Analyse and report on relevant credit control metrics. Ensure compliance with credit control regulations and guidelines. Collaborate with other departments, such as Sales and Distribution, to improve credit control processes and resolve customer disputes. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE: Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (preferred but not always required). Proven experience as a Credit Controller, Debt Collector, or in a related role. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel) KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES / CORE COMPETENCIES: Strong knowledge of credit management and collection procedures A flexible approach to work and be capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
