Principal Responsibilities of the Role: TheFMwill report to the CEO and will have overall responsibility for the Finance function including the delivery of timely and accurate financial management reporting.TheFMwill support the development and execution of the Credit Unions Finance Strategy and ensure alignment with the overallobjectivesof the Strategic Plan.
TheFMwill implement effectivefinancialprocesses and controls to accurately measure and report financial performance and review all financial reports ensuring that underlying processes,reviewand controls have been completedin accordance withbest practice, regulatory requirements and that theappropriate supportingdetail is in place to substantiate final balances.
This role has one direct report.
The position focussesbeyondstandard financial reporting toanalyse, model, and provide financial leadership and consultancy to the Board, theCEOand the management team.
While theFMwillbe responsible forthe day-to-day execution of the finance function,theywill assume leadership for the financial health of the Credit Union,identifyinginternal or external variables thatimpactfinancial performance,anticipatingpotential future impacts and developing mitigation plans to address these issues should they arise.
KeyResponsibilities: Completionof all internal and external reporting, including thepreparationof monthly management accounts Develop the financial analysis, business modelling and economics of operations to optimise the balance ofprogressiveserviceand growthand cost Responsible for preparing andmonitoringmonthly and annual budgets Responsibility for Payroll and all ancillary products Completion of bank and general ledger reconciliations, andsupportinvestment strategies Overall responsibility for Controls and Compliance inaccounts, ensuring that all statutory requirements are met Responsible for budgetary control,forecasting, and asset & liability management Provide assistance tothe lending team when assessing the viability of commercial loans Liaise withthe credit control functionand provide supportin optimisingitsbenefit Support the CEO by providing analysis of financial information, with the provision of ad hoc reports that will lead to new business initiativesand/or inform betterfinancial management Liaise with key stakeholders such as auditors,advisorsand the Central Bank as and whenrequired Analyseproductvalue andprofitability across the suite ofDTCUservices Lead continuous, growth enabling efficiency improvement acrossDTCU to embed model longevity The above list is not exhaustive and may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business.
The successful candidate should have the following: Qualified accountant with 5+ years industry or relevant practice experience.
Experience in financial services desirable Expert knowledge of accounting and financial analysis Agoodunderstanding of Credit Union rules and regulations Ability to plan, forecast, develop budgets, design financialmodelsand oversee the implementation of financial strategies A customer-centric focus ensuring that a first-class service is delivered to members Proficient in all Microsoft office products, especially Excel.
