Exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager with a passion for the food industry to join a large food producing company in West Cork.
This role could be exactly the fresh opportunity you are looking for in your career withing the magnificent hub of West Cork. As Operations Manager you will be responsible for the A-Z of the operation seeing over production & logistics. The logistics of this position will be key so a good working knowledge of the movement of goods is essential, with a knowledge of temperature controlled goods being a distinct advantage.
This will be a fast paced role and will require a good communicator who has experience in problem solving as well as someone who has experience in the negotiations of pricing etc as well. The successful candidate will need to be highly organised and will be on call at times in this position also.
The main focus of this operation will be to get the goods from an initial collection point to the factory floor where they will be assorted for distribution with Ireland as well as internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Liaise with the Factory Floor Manager and the Shop Manager to update them on a daily basis of the product that will be landing and the orders that need to be fulfilled to plan each day's work and ensure adequate staff are available each day.
2. Organise landings and consequently organise logistics and packaging to ensure all are at the landing port at the agreed time.
3. Price sales invoices weekly ensuring the stock purchased has been logged with the SFPA and is priced at the market value at the time.
4. Ensure that non purchase stock is ordered from the agreed suppliers to help optimise supplier rebates for the Company.
5. Authorise purchase invoices on the Trax system by checking them against the PO and GRN to allow them to go forward to the accounts department for payment if correct.
6. Liase on a daily basis with the companies domestic and export customers to maximise sales.
7. Maintain a relationship with customers to ensure customer retention and work on expanding our customer listing to provide growth for the company.
8. Liaise with the Cold Storage Manager to provide customers with the weekly stock availability listing and the pricing of this stock.
9. Work with the Company's Quality Control Expert to ensure that the Shop and Factory Floor are compliant, and the highest standards are maintained.
