As the friendly, welcoming face of our bar restaurant, you will be in charge of giving our patrons an outstanding dining experience and making them feel at home in our magnificent hotel.
Main Responsibilities
1. To ensure that the day to day running of The Bar Restaurant operates in an efficient and professional manner with a high level of guest satisfaction.
2. Procedures and standards of service must be followed at all times ensuring a high level of consistency and professionalism within room service.
3. All tasks and duties to be carried out with the maximum speed to improve the efficiency of the operation but always maintain control and professionalism.
4. To possess product knowledge of the drinks and food items, together with the services within this department. To also have a good working knowledge of all services within the hotel.
5. To clean agreed designated areas and set tables to required standards, ensuring that the table linen is clean and undamaged.
6. To ensure that the table decorations and flowers comply with the standards.
7. To take orders from guests ensuring that they are processed correctly to the appropriate person.
8. To serve beverages and food in accordance with the standards, but above all in a professional and courteous manner.
9. To prepare and deliver orders in a quick, efficient and discreet manner and within the standards set on timing and presentation.
10. To upsell the hotel's facilities at every opportunity, which will improve guest satisfaction and maximise revenue.
11. To make sure that tables are cleared as soon as it is apparent that the guest has finished, but with an acceptable period of waiting.
12. To ensure that guests are correctly charged, present the bill and take payment from the guest, in accordance with the procedures set.
13. To monitor the control of perishable goods, breakages and all types of stock to minimise wastage and control stock levels.
14. To communicate all relevant information to colleagues within the department and also to members of staff and Head of Departments within the hotel.
15. To report all guest comments and feedback to your Head of Department or record it in the log book located at Reception.
16. Cleanliness and hygiene of work areas, equipment, appearance and uniform must always be at a high standard and within the company guidelines as stated in the staff handbook.
17. Privacy and confidentiality of in-house guests to be respected at all times.
