Speech and Language Therapist
We are seeking a passionate and committed Speech and Language Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Louth. The CDNT provides family-centred, interdisciplinary services to children and young people (0–18 years) with complex needs arising from disability.
You will be working as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, and deliver Speech and Language Therapy services in line with national policies and frameworks, such as Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People (PDS).
Key Responsibilities of Speech and Language Therapist
* Provide assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children and young people with complex speech, language, communication, and feeding/swallowing needs.
* Collaborate closely with other team members including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, and Nurses.
* Engage with families as key partners in the therapy process using a family-centred approach.
* Develop and implement individualised care plans based on interdisciplinary goals.
* Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and joint planning sessions.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with GDPR and HSE standards.
* Contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Participate in supervision and CPD to maintain professional standards.
Requirements of Speech and Language Therapist
* A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy approved by CORU.
* Experience working with children with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual disability, and/or physical disabilities.
* Knowledge of interdisciplinary team working and family-centred practice.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Full, clean driving licence and access to a car (community-based travel may be required).
