(CHI) is leading on the clinical and operational transformation of acute paediatric healthcare and consists of hospitals at Crumlin, Temple Street and Tallaght as well as an Urgent Care Centre at Connolly hospital in Blanchardstown.

Purpose of the role:
The post holder should support the delivery of a quality histology service in compliance with best practice and the requirements of international standard ISO 15189.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Bachelor in Science (Applied Science) Honours degree (Biomedical option) from the Technological University of Dublin/ Dublin Institute of Technology (A)
2. or
3. Bachelor in Science Honours degree in Biomedical Science from the Joint University College Cork - Cork Institute of Technology course (B)
4. or
5. Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street or the Cork Institute of Technology awarded prior to 1994 (C)
6. and
7. Possess Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street or Cork Institute of Technology or the Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology (awarded prior to 1997) (C)
8. OR
9. A recognised qualification at least equivalent to (A), (B) or (C) above;
10. and
11. A post graduate degree in the field of Medical Laboratory Science
12. OR
13. Have attained the fellowship examination of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences
14. and
15. Have at least 4 years' experience in a medical laboratory since qualifying as a Medical Scientist.
16. Have experience of working in a Histology Laboratory
17. and
18. Be registered with CORU or be eligible for registration
19. OR
20. Be currently registered with HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist
