Job Title: Oracle Developer (Senior)
Location: Athlone (Will require to attend the office on the days that there will be IT Team/Business Units meetings/workshops. The first 2 months onboarding will require more frequent days on site. Thereafter, 1 day per week minimum on site is required.)
Contract / Permanent: 12 Months with further extension. Start date: Approx. 01/03/2025.
Role:
The client seeks the provision of a Senior Oracle Developer specialist to work on the client Payroll Oracle applications and Pensions applications. The Oracle Developer will be responsible for the support and maintenance of these applications along with smaller oracle applications.
Experience Level Required:
It is a mandatory requirement that the Resource proposed has the equivalent of Senior i.e. >7 years’ experience as an Oracle Developer, including experience in the following:
1. Advanced PL/SQL (7 years’ experience)
2. Oracle Development Toolkit
3. Oracle Forms and Reports
Key Deliverable:
The following non-exhaustive list of Key Deliverables are applicable to this Role:
1. Facilitating the achievement of goals established for the projects to which assigned.
2. Lead on ensuring robust documentation is in place and updated for key business critical customised database routines including clear data lineage for origins of data inputs and also clear code commentary where customised logic has been applied.
3. Assisting with database design and implementation.
4. Development and maintenance of PLSQL database objects employing local standards on an ongoing basis to support development teams across the Department.
5. Troubleshooting and resolving database problems, including database tuning.
6. Determination of any shortcomings of database system and recommend improvements.
7. Advising developers on best practice and optimal approach in the use of PL/SQL.
8. Provision of support for data analysis and data-driven decision making.
9. Completing assigned tasks related to phases of development lifecycle of enterprise applications within given scope and timeframe requirements.
10. Developing customized reports.
11. Mentoring and facilitating skills transfer to Department staff.
12. Any other tasks which are considered by the Department to be appropriate to their role.

1. Experience in the development and maintenance of PL/SQL packages making full use of the latest features of PL/SQL, with specific emphasis on advanced PL/SQL. As part of the response, Tenderers must include a minimum of one example. (200 Marks available - Minimum 120 marks required)
2. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Oracle Forms/Reports, including the creation/modification of forms and also the management of forms server configuration files and the installation of forms. As part of the response, Tenderers must include a minimum of one example. (200 Marks available - Minimum 120 marks required)
3. Demonstrate knowledge of Linux & Windows Operating Systems including batch scripting as part of the response, Tenderers must include a minimum of one example. (100 Marks available - Minimum 60 marks required)
4. Demonstrate knowledge with SQL Developer. As part of the response, Tenderers must include a minimum of one example. (50 Marks available – Minimum 30 marks required)
5. Demonstrate experience in skills transfer in relation to Oracle forms, reports and PL/SQL. As part of the response, Tenderers must include a minimum of one example. (50 Marks available – Minimum 30 marks required)
6. Demonstrate approach to effectively documenting code to ensure code maintainability, readability and overall risk reduction on single resource reliance. As part of the response, Tenderers must include a minimum of one example. (50 Marks available – Minimum 30 marks required)
