Overview: An exciting opportunity has opened for an Environmental Advisor. In this role, you will work closely with the Environmental Manager and contribute to various environmental initiatives across the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting site inspections, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and supporting sustainability efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Environmental Inspections and Audits: Perform regular inspections and audits at company sites to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
2. Advisory Support: Provide guidance and support to senior and divisional management on environmental matters.
3. ISO 14001:2015 Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company’s ISO 14001:2015 Certified Environmental Management System.
4. Compliance Monitoring: Track compliance with environmental licenses, permits, and planning permissions across various sites.
5. Staff Training: Identify environmental training needs and deliver training sessions to staff as required.
6. Performance Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in environmental performance and develop initiatives to enhance sustainability and compliance.
7. Sustainability Programs: Support the creation and execution of sustainability programs within the organization.
8. Biodiversity Initiatives: Assist with biodiversity improvement efforts and collaborate with external partners on biodiversity-related projects.
9. Health & Safety: Ensure adherence to company Health & Safety policies and coordinate with the group Health & Safety department as needed.
Requirements:
10. Educational Background: A degree in an Environmental discipline is required, with relevant post-graduate experience in a manufacturing setting.
11. ISO 14001 Experience: Previous experience managing or working with ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems is essential, including experience with third-party audits.
12. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with operating in a regulated environment, such as IPPC or PPC, is necessary for this role.
