Position: Successful Telecom Laborer Aerial
Pay: $19 - $26 / hour
Location: Based out of Rathdrum, ID but may also travel to projects in Washington and Oregon.
Responsibilities:
1. Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable.
2. Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more.
3. Safely operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more.
4. Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers.
5. Flag traffic when required.
6. Understand separation and clearance regulations.
7. Ability to safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders.
8. Flexibility to work in multiple locations.
9. Ability to travel when required.
Qualifications:
1. Must be at least 18 years old.
2. Must be able to pass pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check, drug test, and DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card.
3. Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
4. A valid, unrestricted driver's license (Commercial driver's license preferred but not required).
5. Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques.
6. Ability to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet.
7. Able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (such as pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction).
8. Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance.
9. Ability to set up & maintain safe work areas.
10. Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Splicing of active & passive equipment would be a plus.
2. Class A CDL.
