Role Title: Clinical Nurse Manager 1, Urgent Care Role Location: Urgent Care, Swords A 6 month contract position has arisen within Vhi Health & Wellbeing for the role of Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM 1) in our Urgent care department in Swords. The primary role of the CNM 1 will be one of clinical and professional leadership and development in the nursing and health care assistant (HCA) teams, including, the development of nursing and HCA staff by means of in-service training, orientation of new staff, arranging the clinical experience and supervision of the nursing team and patient flow management on the Urgent Care floor. Be proactive in integrating evidence-based knowledge and research into the delivery of nursing care and nursing administration. Assist in orientation of all new staff. Embrace change and new initiatives which promote excellence in patient care. Proactively manage quality and safety standards at a local level. Ensure a safe environment for staff and patients. Encourage and facilitate staff in relation to on-going professional development. Ensure all nurses practice within the code set for the profession by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland. Act as a role model. Support and participate in audit activity. Support and assist the CNM II with roster scheduling and planning. Deputise for the CNM II as required. Promote and develop a culture of quality and safety in line with the Vhi Health & Wellbeing QSR Framework and the Vhi Health & Wellbeing strategic objectives. Promote a culture of in keeping with the overarching values of Vhi. Education & Experience Be registered on the General Division of the register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be eligible to so register. 3 years post registration experience within the past 5 years. Experience in ED/Urgent Care/ICU. Demonstrate taking on a management role in the clinical area within the last year. Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her professional responsibility within his/her scope of practice. Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development.
