Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to develop in a role that will be expected to perform all tasks associated with developing and implementing the company's Health & Safety procedures, management systems, and policies to exceed legal and corporate compliance requirements.
The successful candidate will assist in the development, management, and delivery of safety-related training to all levels of staff on various areas including procedural requirements, incident investigation, risk assessment, and safety inspection/audit.
Key Accountabilities:
* Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with current and future relevant legislation and industry best practice.
* Support effective risk assessment and risk reduction programs across sites.
* Conduct regular internal H&S inspections and audits to monitor effectiveness of controls and highlight areas for improvement/action.
* Facilitate external audits and inspections as required.
* Monitor departmental programs, tasks, objectives, and goals to achieve targets.
* Manage action tracking process through liaising with stakeholders to ensure agreed actions are closed in a timely manner and escalated where necessary.
* Monitor H&S performance via metrics to ensure decisive action is taken when required.
* SUPPORT delivery of training to management and personnel when required.
* Ensure the incident investigation process is in place and followed. Support investigations as necessary.
* Continuously monitor and review incident data and trends to ensure adequate investigations take place and appropriate corrective actions and outcomes identified and implemented.
* Facilitate regular meetings between stakeholders including safety representatives and management.
Requirements:
* Graduate Diploma (Level 8) in Occupational Safety, Health and Welfare.
* 3+ years' experience in a Health and Safety-focused environment.
* Knowledge of ISO standards, particularly ISO 45001:2018.
* Training, Delivery & Evaluation (QQI 6) or Instructor training advantageous.
* Experience working within a FMCG business.
* Computer literate with excellent knowledge of MS Office packages.
* Attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills essential.
* Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
* Able to demonstrate ability to create concise reports, procedures, and policies.
* Full clean driving license with own car.
* Flexibility with shift rotation and travel required.
