Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team on behalf of a reputable Main Building and Civils Contractor based in Athlone.
The successful candidate will have experience in delivering high-quality construction projects across residential, commercial, industrial, and civil engineering sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for building and civil engineering projects.
* Managing procurement processes, including sourcing and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.
* Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project budgets and quality standards.
* Preparing interim valuations, progress reports, and final accounts.
* Managing project variations and ensuring changes are accurately recorded and costed.
* Supporting project teams with financial management, risk analysis, and value engineering solutions.
* Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives.
* Monitoring and reporting on project financial performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities where possible.
Requirements:
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
* 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with experience in both building and civil engineering projects.
* Strong knowledge of Irish construction methods, regulations, and contracts.
* Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication and negotiation abilities, with a focus on building strong relationships.
* Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
