Summary:
The Automation Engineer is responsible for configuring, implementing, maintaining, and ongoing supporting various small manufacturing equipment-specific applications and systems in a cGMP environment.
Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Providing end-user support for small manufacturing equipment applications, including troubleshooting issues and effectively communicating updates to management, business process owners, and users.
* Generate automation documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, and configuration specification documents.
* Performing daily administrative tasks related to functional support and general user account management.
* Acting as a subject matter expert (SME) and collaborating with functional departments on projects to develop, implement, and enhance systems.
* Implementing software/hardware changes and upgrades while understanding the impact of these actions on manufacturing and facilities operations.
* Assisting during regulatory or partner inspections by providing required support.
* Supporting automation change control requests.
* Participating in or leading small manufacturing equipment projects to introduce new equipment or upgrade existing applications.
* Collaborating with validation and quality departments to ensure that automation applications associated with small manufacturing equipment are implemented following a development lifecycle approach.
* Leading or participating in security access management and periodic audit trail reviews for small manufacturing equipment applications.
Job Requirements:
* A BS/BA or higher in Science, Engineering, Instrumentation, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Equivalent relevant experience may be substituted for education.
