Job Summary
The Skilled Machine Operator is responsible for operating assigned machinery, ensuring smooth equipment operation, optimal capacity utilization, and proper maintenance.
Main Responsibilities
* Effective Equipment Operation: Support the delivery of high-quality products by operating equipment efficiently.
* Fault Finding: Identify and resolve machine issues, escalating support when required.
* Cleaning and Maintenance: Ensure all equipment is properly cared for through effective cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.
* Production Targets: Meet or exceed production targets by monitoring equipment output and reporting issues to supervisors/line managers.
* Safety Checks: Conduct safety checks in line with health and safety requirements.
* Machinery Quality Control: Check and control machinery to ensure consistent quality.
* Work Area Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of the work area and report any non-conformances to management.
* New Operator Training: Train new machine operators to company standards and maintain their skills training regularly.
* Health & Safety Commitment: Demonstrate a commitment to Health & Safety by working safely, role modeling safe behaviors, challenging unsafe practices, rectifying unsafe conditions, and escalating to other team members when support is needed.
Essential Criteria
* Operating Machinery: Experience operating machinery and running a production line.
* Factory Experience: Previous factory experience.
* Language Skills: Excellent standard of written and spoken English.
* Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria
* Food Manufacturing Experience: Experience in food manufacturing on a large scale.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills.
