Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor – Cork, Ireland
The Role
The EHS Advisor is a senior and responsible role for leading Designer Group's Environmental, Health & Safety program for the project they oversee. Based full-time on the Designer Group Cork project.

Key Responsibilities
As EHS Advisor, your core responsibilities will include:
* Providing day-to-day EHS support on-site and adapting to meet the dynamic needs of the project.
* Driving the implementation of EHS systems, wellbeing initiatives, and policies to meet defined performance targets and KPIs.
* Ensuring compliance with Irish and regional EHS regulations and internal procedures.
* Collaborating closely with site teams to maintain alignment and promote a strong safety culture.
* Supporting the investigation and analysis of incidents and facilitating lessons learned.
* Leading and promoting continuous improvements across EHS systems and site practices.
* Coordinating with regulatory bodies and clients during inspections, audits, and reviews.
* Offering expert advice to site teams on hazard identification and risk mitigation strategies.
* Gathering and reporting EHS data and performance metrics accurately and on time.
* Supporting delivery of EHS training initiatives and raising awareness across the project.
* Participating in scheduled inspections, audits, and safety walkdowns to ensure compliance and best practices are upheld.
* Contributing to project documentation and ensuring all activities align with company values and safety standards.
Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* The ability to make informed decisions and provide practical EHS solutions.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Familiarity with European EHS standards and statutory requirements.
* Proficiency in EHS systems, indicators, and digital platforms.
* Ability to review and contribute to project documentation including PEPs, SOPs, and RAMS.
* A professional and collaborative approach when dealing with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners.
Requirements
* 3+ years EHS experience in construction or engineering.
* Recognised 3rd level EHS qualification or related field.
* Relevant EHS accreditations/certifications (e.g., IOSH).
* Full clean EU driving licence.
* Strong IT skills.
* Knowledge of ISO standards (45001, 14001) and relevant certification processes.
