Responsibilities and duties of the Technical Sales Manager role
Reporting to the Divisional Manager you will:
Target and engage with Irish data centre companies and projects, focusing on key decision makers (owners, operators, engineers, contractors, resellers) to generate specifications and grow brand presence in strategic applications.
Develop business opportunities from scratch to standard specification status, identifying and supporting new clients to maximise market potential while maintaining relationships with existing stakeholders.
Promote technical solutions to specifying engineers across multiple disciplines through presentations, site visits, training, and collaboration with resellers to secure specifications and project wins.
Attend industry events to network, discover new opportunities, and pursue non-traditional construction segments, including equipment and modular-based builds.
Drive sustainable sales growth by executing strategic sales plans, managing CRM records, providing accurate market insights, and offering pre-sales technical guidance and design input for bespoke solutions.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Proven sales expertise in presenting complex technical solutions, with a consultative approach and experience managing long-term, high-value projects.
Strong industry knowledge in civil, electrical, controls, automation, and mechanical systems, with established relationships across engineering, contracting, and design firms.
Effective business development skills, including structured planning, opportunity identification through industry tools, and successful prospect engagement.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities, confident in delivering strategies to both internal teams and external decision makers.
Flexible and mobile, with the ability to travel across the UK and internationally as required.
