Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Osborne Executive Search is delighted to partner exclusively with Dundalk Chamber in the recruitment of their next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Dundalk Chamber is the principal voice of business networks in the region, representing over 250 members across diverse sectors. The Chamber plays a pivotal role in promoting Dundalk as a dynamic and attractive place to do business, live, work, invest and visit. Through advocacy, collaboration and strategic initiatives throughout the North East Region and cross-border, they foster an environment where enterprise can flourish. Dundalk Chamber supports local businesses by lobbying on their behalf, promoting inward investment, building cross-border partnerships, and enhancing economic development in the North East Region at local, national and international level. In addition, they promote the importance of Dundalks location on the M1 Corridor which facilitates the development and growth of manufacturing and service industries in tandem with tourism, retail, commercial and lifestyle offerings. Since 2015, their successful Shop Local Gift Voucher initiative has kept over €8 million in the local economy. The CEO will be responsible for delivering the strategic vision of the Chamber and leading the organisation into a new phase of sustainable growth. This includes expanding their membership and services, building cross-border and international relationships, enhancing visibility, securing funding, and ensuring operational and financial efficiency across the North East region. Key responsibilities will include: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement forward-looking strategic plan to grow the Chambers influence, impact, and value to members. Promote Dundalk as a key business destination on the M1 Corridor, North East Region and beyond. Representation and Advocacy: Serve as the Chambers chief spokesperson, representing member interests to local, national, and international stakeholders. Advocate on key business issues such as infrastructure, planning, taxation, and economic policy. Membership and Commercial Growth: Drive year-on-year growth in membership and income. Identify and develop new revenue streams through sponsorships, events, training programmes, advertising, and tailored business supports. Member Engagement and Services: Foster close relationships with members through regular dialogue, visits, and events. Ensure the Chamber delivers high-quality services that are relevant, responsive, and valued by the business community. Marketing, Promotion and Communications: Oversee the Chambers communications strategy and brand positioning. Lead campaigns that promote Dundalk as a centre of excellence for enterprise, investment, talent, tourism, and lifestyle. Partnerships and Stakeholder Relations: Build and strengthen relationships with government, state agencies, educational institutions, and business networks to support local economic development and innovation. Operations and Team Management: Lead, manage and develop the Chambers internal team. Ensure effective operations, optimal use of resources, and a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Finance, Governance and Compliance: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. Ensure the Chamber operates to best practice standards in governance, compliance, risk management, and organisational performance. Programme Delivery: Support the delivery of Chamber-led initiatives such as Skillnet and other enterprise development programmes in collaboration with local and national partners. Candidate Profile: Essential Criteria At least five years management experience with a strong commercial focus including HR, sales, marketing, PR, IT, facilities, regulatory and compliance Proven leadership with a track record of driving growth and strategic development. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills confident in public speaking, media, and stakeholder engagement. Strong understanding of the Irish business landscape and regional economic development. Desirable A third-level qualification, ideally in Business, Management, or a related field Experience in a membership, representative or not-for-profit body. Familiarity with cross-border business dynamics and European funding streams. A practical understanding of modern business systems, digital marketing, and CRM tools. Personal Attributes Energetic, adaptable and solution-focused. Decisive and highly organised, with strong attention to detail. Collaborative leadership style and a motivational team player. Politically and commercially astute with excellent networking ability. A car owner with a full clean driving licence. Remuneration The salary will be commensurate with experience and in line with similar not-for-profit CEO roles in Ireland.
