HGV Mechanic and Fitter
Our client, a family-owned and managed company providing waste collection services across the domestic, commercial, industrial and building sectors, is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic for their Galway facility.
The organisation's complete waste management service incorporates the collection and safe disposal of solid and liquid waste. With over 80 team members, the company continues to invest and expand, requiring an expert HGV Mechanic and Fitter to support operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the repair and maintenance of HGVs, Plant & Equipment to ensure the smooth operation of the business.
* Plan and coordinate maintenance/CVRT testing of equipment in line with the maintenance schedule.
* Manage workshop systems and adhere to procedures.
* Collaborate with other garage staff to plan vehicle maintenance, order parts, and coordinate works.
* Meet weekly with the operations manager or supervisor to review current workload and resource planning.
* Identify procurement items that need to be sourced by others and provide ongoing status reports as required.
Requirements:
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience with MIG welding is desirable but not essential.
* Proficiency in using vehicle diagnostic systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and general computer literacy in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Google Sheets and related business applications.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
* Full clean driver's license (Class C).
