Turmec is currently seeking a qualified, ambitious, and detail-driven accountant to join our Finance team in the role of Financial Accountant for a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is highly motivated, accurate, and efficient, with a strong desire to take ownership of core financial ledgers. This role reports directly to the CFO and will play a key part in the ongoing development of our financial processes. This full-time fixed term position is based at our head office in Rathcairn, near Athboy, Co. Meath.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Prepare consolidated monthly accounts
2. Oversee project and revenue accounting
3. Maintain a nominal ledger and complete intercompany reconciliations
4. Maintain and manage the Fixed Asset Register
5. Ensure timely filing of VAT, Corporation Tax, and other statutory returns
6. Liaise with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and banking partners
7. Manage deliverables for the annual financial audit
8. Support and develop Finance team colleagues, contributing to ongoing process improvements
9. Other ad hoc duties to be performed as and when required
Required Skills
1. A qualified accountant with a minimum of 3+ years’ post-qualification experience in a medium to large company environment
2. Strong working knowledge of recognised accounting software (experience preferred)
3. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
4. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality
5. A self-starter with a proactive mindset and the ability to critically analyse financial information
6. Excellent organisational, written, and verbal communication skills
7. Comfortable working under pressure and capable of recommending improvements in internal processes
8. Ability to work in a team environment and support team colleagues
