Role Overview: The Backshift Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the evening warehouse operations, ensuring quality control and managing the team of general operators, pickers and forklift drivers.
This role also involves coordinating all outbound shipments, ensuring staff are properly assigned tasks so that nothing is overlooked, and all orders are loaded efficiently.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: - Leading and managing the Warehouse Backshift team and reporting on all warehouse activities, processes and procedures to the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager.
- Overseeing Cross-docking, Put-away and Despatch operations.
- Assisting other supervisors in maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Ensuring the team fully understands their tasks and has the necessary training to complete them.
- Supervising the consolidation of parcels from different warehouse areas (e.g., Dept.
101, Dept.
102, Dept.
103).
- Conducting performance reviews for team members within the warehouse.
- Collaborating with various departments like Goods In, Cross-dock, Returns, B2B and Ecommerce to uphold high work standards in the warehouse.
- Training staff in the Backshift warehouse for Despatch, General Operations, Cross-dock and Put-away tasks.
- Providing coverage for the Warehouse Supervisor when necessary.
