Social Care Worker Mainstream Residential Service Sligo Permanent Full Time
Salary: €35,000 to €38,000 (based on experience)
Are you an experienced and dedicated Social Care Worker seeking a rewarding career in a Mainstream residential service? Join our passionate team in Co. Sligo, providing comprehensive care for vulnerable young people who are unable to be with their families.
Key Responsibilities
1. Working as part of a team while ensuring quality care for vulnerable young people.
2. Create a safe and nurturing environment for vulnerable young people, focusing on their physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
3. Implement individual care plans, considering unique needs and circumstances.
4. Be accountable for supporting the day-to-day running of the service and responsible for the execution and delivery of a person-centred approach.
5. Monitor and supervise, responding effectively to behavioural or emotional issues.
6. Be committed to pro-actively supporting young people in their daily lives and choices.
7. Maintain accurate records of progress, development, and incidents.
8. Communicate effectively with families and colleagues.
9. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and collaborate with professionals for comprehensive care.
10. Support educational activities and address learning or behavioural challenges.
11. Organise recreational and social activities, fostering a positive and inclusive community.
12. Handle crises and emergencies, following established protocols and collaborating with external agencies.
13. Stay informed about best practices and legislative changes.
Requirements
1. Qualification of minimum level 7 social care degree or alternative to include social work, social science, counselling, child and adolescent psychotherapy, youth and community work or a level 8 psychology.
2. Have a genuine passion for working with children and young people.
3. Have full eligibility and availability to work with this company.
