As a Barclays Europe (BE) Senior Internal Audit Manager – COO & Functions, you will assist the BE Internal Audit Director and the BE Chief Internal Auditor in delivering the BE audit plan. You will focus primarily on audits in the COO and Functions areas of the bank, but the role will also provide opportunities across the wider BE portfolio. You will be responsible for planning, executing, overseeing, and reporting on audits as well as leading audit teams during audit delivery. You will also support the Director to define the coverage strategy and audit plan for these functions, as well as on-going monitoring of risks through meeting regularly with stakeholders.
This role demands a proactive individual who is open to learning and capable of handling new tasks as they arise.
To be successful as a Senior Internal Auditor focusing on COO and Functions, you should have experience with:
Competency in risk-based auditing or assurance in the financial services industry.Relevant audit, accounting or equivalent qualification (e.g. CIA, MIIA, ACCA, CISA).Experience of auditing operations and functional areas, with a preference for Financial Crime and Compliance experience.Experience with the European regulatory system would be an advantage.You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in the role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

Purpose of the role: To support the development of audits aligned to the bank's standards and objectives by working collaboratively with colleagues, providing accurate information and recommendations, and complying with policies and procedures.
Accountabilities: Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems, and risk management.Identification of operational risks to support the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan through risk assessments.Assessment of internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned to regulatory requirements.Communication of key findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, senior managers, and directors.Identification of regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practice.Vice President Expectations: To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
