I'm currently seeking an ambitious Laboratory Technician for a 12 month contract role, with potential for permanency, at a site that is currently ramping up it's production.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our client's operations by performing a variety of laboratory tests and analyses. Your expertise will ensure the quality and safety of their products and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests on samples from operations.
* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as spectrometers, microscopes, and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers.
* Perform chemical analyses using techniques like atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectroscopy.
* Record and interpret test results with precision, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records and reports.
* Assist in developing and implementing laboratory procedures and protocols.
* Ensure adherence to all safety and environmental regulations.
* Collaborate with other departments to provide technical support and expertise.
* Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
* Previous experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within manufacturing or heavy industry.
* Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment, including AAS, ICP, XRF, and other relevant methods.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
